Tow Operator / Yard Maintenance
Hourly Plus Night, Weekend & Holiday Commission / Based On Experience
Ray’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service is looking for a dependable Tow Truck Operator / Yard Maintenance team member to assist with towing, vehicle transport, impound yard organization, and day-to-day support around the shop and storage lot.
This position is important to both our customers and our operation. The right person should be safety-minded, professional, dependable, and able to work around vehicles, customers, law enforcement, and shop staff in a respectful manner.
Responsibilities may include operating a rollback or wrecker, loading and securing vehicles, assisting with impounds, organizing the storage lot, moving vehicles, cleaning the yard, maintaining equipment, helping with customer vehicle releases, and supporting daily shop operations as needed.
Requirements
- Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts.
- Must be able to safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles.
- Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, bend, kneel, climb, pull straps/chains, and work around vehicles for extended periods.
- Must be professional when dealing with customers, dispatch, law enforcement, and coworkers.
- Must be able to complete basic paperwork, tow tickets, vehicle condition notes, and impound-related information.
- Must be able to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, truck, and storage lot.
- Must be willing to follow company procedures and safety guidelines.
Preferred but not required
- Previous towing or roadside assistance experience.
- Rollback or wrecker experience.
- Police rotation or accident scene experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Experience with Towbook or other towing software.

Auto Body Technician
Hourly / Based On Experience
Ray’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service is looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician who takes pride in quality collision repair and dependable workmanship.
The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicles, replacing panels, performing disassembly and reassembly, identifying hidden damage, and working with the team to complete safe and proper repairs. This position requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to follow repair procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and able to work well with estimators, painters, detailers, office staff, and management.
Requirements
- Must have experience in collision repair, body panel replacement, dent repair, and vehicle disassembly/reassembly.
- Must be able to repair, align, replace, and fit body panels including doors, fenders, hoods, bumpers, quarter panels, and related components.
- Must be able to use common body shop tools and equipment safely, including grinders, sanders, welders, hand tools, and power tools.
- Must be able to follow estimates, work orders, and repair procedures.
- Must be able to identify hidden damage and communicate needed repairs or supplements to management.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work full-time.
- Must be detail-oriented and take pride in quality workmanship.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stand, kneel, and work around vehicles for extended periods.
- Must maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

- I-CAR training or certifications.

Auto Body Painter
Hourly / Based On Experience
Ray’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service is looking for a skilled Auto Body Painter to perform high-quality automotive refinishing work. This position is responsible for preparing vehicles and panels for paint, mixing materials, spraying primer, sealer, basecoat, and clearcoat, blending panels, and producing a clean finished product.
The right candidate should understand proper prep, masking, color match, spray technique, booth cleanliness, and finish quality. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that a quality paint job starts before the first coat is sprayed.
Requirements
- Must have experience with automotive refinishing, paint prep, masking, priming, sealing, basecoat, clearcoat, blending, and buffing.
- Must be able to properly prepare panels for paint, including sanding, scuffing, feather-edging, cleaning, taping, and masking.
- Must understand color matching, blending, paint mixing, and proper spray techniques.
- Must be able to inspect panels before painting and identify imperfections that need correction.
- Must be able to follow paint manufacturer procedures and safety guidelines.
- Must understand spray booth procedures, flash times, drying times, air pressure, spray gun setup, and cleanliness requirements.
- Must be able to wet sand, polish, denib, and buff finished panels when needed.
- Must maintain a clean and organized paint area, mixing room, booth, tools, and equipment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and quality-focused.
- Must follow safety procedures, including use of respirators, PPE, ventilation, and chemical handling.
Preferred but not required
- I-CAR training or certifications.
- Paint manufacturer certification.
- Experience with waterborne or solvent-based paint systems.
- Experience with collision repair insurance work.
- Experience with spray booth maintenance and paint mixing systems.

Auto Body Estimator / Office Tech
Hourly / Based On Experience
Ray’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service is looking for an Auto Body Estimator / Office Tech to assist with customer service, estimates, insurance communication, repair documentation, and general body shop office operations.
This position is a key connection between customers, insurance companies, technicians, and management. The right person should be organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly. Responsibilities may include writing estimates, reviewing damage, assisting with supplements, updating customers, communicating with insurance companies, scheduling repairs, ordering parts, documenting repairs, and helping keep jobs moving through the shop.
This is a great position for someone with collision repair knowledge, estimating experience, office experience, or strong customer service skills.
Requirements
- Must have strong communication and customer service skills.

Auto Clean-Up and Detailing
Hourly / Based On Experience
Ray’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service is looking for a dependable Clean-Up and Detailing team member to help prepare vehicles before and after repairs. This position plays an important role in the customer experience by making sure vehicles are cleaned, organized, and ready for delivery.
Responsibilities may include washing vehicles, vacuuming interiors, cleaning glass, wiping down panels, removing dust or overspray, assisting with final delivery prep, helping around the shop, and keeping the detail area clean and organized.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn more about the collision repair industry.
Requirements
